How it Works
Arrive for your first class. Come by the school and take your first class for free.
Pick your program. Sign up online to the program that works best for you. We have monthly and weekly options available.
Log into our platform. This is where you can schedule classes (Real World student) and review our lesson materials.
Plus, you’ll have free access to online classes if you want extra practice.
Grab a cafecito before class. All students get get unlimited artisanal coffee for free, directly sourced from a local farm.
Want extra practice? Every day at 10am and 3pm we host a free conversation and reading club to meet and practice with other students.

Our story began in Medellín.
It all started 9 years ago when this crazy gringo arrived in Colombia with one goal: to learn Spanish in a month. By throwing out the traditional methods, stripping the curriculum down to the essentials, and focusing on speaking, Adrian helped Connor succeed.
Together with three other founders, Adrian and Connor started BaseLang, offering unlimited private classes online. To this day, online is our primary business.
But Medellín is where everything started. It’s in our DNA. So in 2018, we opened our only in-person school. Through the school and local charities, we’re able give back to the city that has given us so much.
We can confidently say that there is no faster way to learn Spanish, anywhere in the world, than using the Bootcamp program at BaseLang in Medellin. Period. We’re proud to be able to say that.

No. Group classes are not an effective way to make progress quickly, since you have limited time with a teacher and often some students end up getting more attention than others.
In our classes, you work 1-on-1 with a teacher who is 100% focused on you and making sure that you progress quickly.
Just send us a message on Whatsapp and let us know when you’re planning to arrive so that we can block off a teacher for your free class.
Or drop in the school during business hours, and provided that we have availability, you can take your free class there and then.
Absolutely. It’s common for online students to study at the Medellin school. In fact, in the platform there is an option to change your current plan to a Medellin plan.
Our Medellin teachers will even have access to your online progress sheet, so that you can pick up exactly where you left off in online classes.
Studying at our Medellin school is about more than just learning Spanish - it’s about getting a taste of Colombian culture. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be greeted with typical paisa hospitality and be offered a Colombian cafecito sourced from a local finca (farm).
Plus, every week we host free activities, such as Yoga classes, Salsa lessons and a language exchange.
We don’t take care of any accommodation.
However, our school is located in Laureles, one of the best neighborhoods in the city which has a array of different hotels, hostels and Airbnbs within walking distance of the school.
