One thing that’s extremely common in Latin culture is the importance of family. In most Spanish-speaking countries, nothing is more important than family! And whether that’s the case for you or not (we hope it’s at least up there!), you’re guaranteed to be asked about your family. This post will prepare you for those conversations by giving you all the right vocab for the Spanish family words.

Your Immediate Family in Spanish

Here’s how to talk about people in your immediate family unit:

Bonus: Pets in Spanish

Ok, we know they’re not on the same level as your uncle or your grandparents, but we’ve decided to add this bonus section in case you want to talk about your pets in Spanish. The word for a pet is una mascota. A dog is un perro or una perra, and a cat is un gato or una gata.
