Colombia has always been deeply important to BaseLang. We were founded there in 2015, and today more than 120 members of our team live and work across the country.

That鈥檚 one of the reasons this tragic news has felt especially close to home.
We鈥檝e been in touch with all our team members in Colombia, and thankfully, everyone is safe.聽
No one was seriously injured or had their home badly damaged.聽
Our team was fortunate.聽
Thousands of Colombians were not.
The latest reports indicate that more than 250 people have died, thousands have been injured, and cities including Cali, Pereira, Quibd贸, and Manizales have suffered serious damage.

In response, our team has compiled a list of reputable organizations accepting donations.
BaseLang is not affiliated with any of these organizations. We selected them based on our research into their reputation, track record, and relief efforts.
- Cruz Roja Colombiana: National Red Cross running search and rescue, health care, and blood donation drives across Choc贸, Caldas, Risaralda, and Valle del Cauca.
- Manos Visibles (Choc贸): Colombian nonprofit that’s worked in Choc贸 for 15+ years, now channeling donations directly to the region’s hardest hit and historically underserved communities.
- Banco de Alimentos (ABACO): National food bank network running a humanitarian corridor to move food and essential goods into shelters, hospitals, and hard to reach communities.
- Convoy of Hope: US-based disaster relief group already on the ground, distributing food, water, and hygiene supplies through local churches in western Colombia.
- Direct Relief: US-based medical aid nonprofit funding emergency flights, medical supplies, and blood units into Choc贸’s hard to reach areas, building on $27M+ in prior aid to Colombia since 2015. 100% of donations go to relief efforts.
