I was really surprised with how quickly I improved after signing up to BaseLang. After completing the first few levels and learning some grammar and verb conjugations, I was able to have more and more complex conversations in Spanish with my boyfriend. Now that I have the basics, I try to speak to his family and friends in Spanish. Of course, I make a lot of mistakes, but everyone really appreciates the effort and they encourage me to keep trying.

Constant practice is the key to getting better at anything. And when something is fun, it’s even easier to put in the work (you won’t even realise you’re doing it!). The teachers are student centered. Sometimes I just want a conversation and they will do that with you. Sometimes, I want to read a book with them so I can share my screen and read the book out loud with them and then we can go through pronunciation corrections or have a discussion about the content. They are flexible and this program is flexible.

I honestly haven’t seen any other program quite like this one; with unlimited hours to practice, a DELE program, and this big of a variety of different teachers. It has really exceeded my expectations and I’ve progressed much faster than I thought I would. Learning a language is not easy and full immersion of the language is probably the fastest way to learn, but not everyone can get up and leave to go live in another country.
